Cubes Hosting operates on a flexible prepaid basis with no long-term contracts or cancellation fees. If you no longer need a game server, web hosting plan, VPS, or Discord bot instance, you can request a cancellation at any time directly through the Client Portal.
This guide will walk you through submitting a service cancellation request in the My Cubes Client Area.
Step 1: Navigate to Your Service in My Cubes
- Log in to the My Cubes Client Area.
- Navigate to Services > My Services on the top menu.
- Click on the active server or service you wish to cancel.
Step 2: Submit a Cancellation Request
- On the left sidebar menu under Actions, click Request Cancellation.
- Briefly state your reason for cancellation (this helps our team improve our infrastructure and services).
- Select your preferred Cancellation Type:
- End of Billing Period (Recommended): Keeps your server online for the remainder of your current paid billing cycle. No future renewal invoices will be generated, and your server will shut down automatically on your renewal date.
- Immediate Cancellation: Queues your service for immediate termination. Choose this option only if you no longer need the server or files right away.
- Click Request Cancellation.
Important Note Regarding Refunds: Submitting a cancellation request does not issue a refund or prorated credit for remaining days on your prepaid billing period.
Step 3: Important Checklist Before Canceling
1. Download Your Server Files & Backups
Before requesting an Immediate cancellation, make sure to download all world saves, custom plugins, database dumps, and configuration files to your local computer via SFTP or File Manager. Once a server is terminated, its files cannot be restored!
2. Cancel PayPal Automatic Payments (If Applicable)
If you set up an automatic recurring payment agreement in PayPal during checkout, remember to revoke the agreement inside your PayPal dashboard.
Note: Due to PayPal security policies, hosting providers cannot automatically cancel PayPal recurring subscriptions on your behalf. Check out our step-by-step guide on How to Cancel Automatic Payments in PayPal.
Conclusion
Canceling a service on Cubes Hosting is hassle-free. Submit your cancellation request in My Cubes, back up your files, and come back whenever you are ready to start your next server adventure!
