How to Create Floating Holograms on Your Minecraft Server

Floating Holograms are one of the best ways to welcome new players, display server rules, announce events, or showcase leaderboards at your spawn point. Instead of placing signs or building wall boards, holograms display floating text and floating 3D items directly in the air.

This guide will show you how to install hologram plugins and create floating displays on your Cubes Hosting Minecraft server.

Step 1: Install Holograms via the Cubes Panel

There are two major hologram plugins available for Minecraft servers: Holographic Displays (classic) and DecentHolograms (modern 1.16–1.21+). Both work similarly.

Log in to your Cubes Hosting Game Panel and select your Minecraft server.
Navigate to Tools > Plugin & Mod Installer on the left menu.
Search for Holographic Displays or DecentHolograms.
Click Install.
Go to your server Console and click Restart.

Step 2: Creating Your First Hologram

Once installed, join your server in-game as an Operator (OP). Stand at the exact location where you want your floating text to appear.

Editing an Existing Line

To change a specific line (e.g. line 2):

To delete a specific line from your hologram:

/hd removeline welcome_hologram 2

Step 4: Displaying Floating Items

Both plugins allow you to display floating, rotating 3D items inside your hologram!

To add a floating item line:

/hd addline welcome_hologram ICON: diamond_sword

(You can use any valid Minecraft item ID, such as ICON: netherite_chestplate or ICON: golden_apple).

Step 5: Moving & Managing Holograms

If you rebuild your spawn town or want to shift your hologram's position:
