Removing unwanted, outdated, or broken plugins is an essential part of maintaining a healthy Minecraft server. Uninstalling unused plugins frees up server memory (RAM), improves CPU performance, and prevents plugin conflicts.

This guide will show you how to uninstall plugins on your Cubes Hosting server using our panel tools or manually deleting files.

Cubes Hosting provides an easy 1-click plugin manager that lets you view and remove installed plugins directly from your Game Panel.

  1. Log in to your Cubes Hosting Game Panel and select your server.
  2. Stop your server completely. (Important: Always stop your server before adding or removing plugin files!)
  3. Navigate to Tools > Plugin & Mod Installer on the left menu.
  4. Click on the Installed Plugins tab (or search for the plugin you wish to remove).
  5. Click the Uninstall (or Delete) button next to the plugin.
  6. Go to your server Console and click Start.

Method 2: Manual Uninstallation via File Manager or SFTP

If you installed a custom .jar file or prefer to manage your server files directly:

  1. Stop your server completely from the Game Panel.
  2. Open the File Manager on the left sidebar (or connect via SFTP).
  3. Navigate to the plugins directory.
  4. Locate the plugin's .jar file (e.g., ClearLag.jar or EssentialsX.jar).
  5. Right-click the .jar file and select Delete.
  6. (Optional) Remove Configuration Data:
    • Every plugin generates a configuration folder with the same name (e.g., /plugins/ClearLag/).
    • If you want a complete wipe, delete the configuration folder too.
    • If you plan to reinstall the plugin later and want to save your settings, leave the folder untouched!
  7. Start your server from the Console.

Important Things to Check Before Uninstalling

  • Check Dependency Plugins: Before deleting a plugin, make sure no other plugins depend on it. For example, if you delete Vault, any economy, shop, or chat plugins depending on Vault will stop working!
  • Backup Your Data: If you are removing a major plugin (like WorldGuard, LuckPerms, or EssentialsX), take a quick server backup or download your /plugins/ folder to your computer first just in case you need to revert changes.

Conclusion

Uninstalling plugins is fast and simple. Whether you click Uninstall under Tools > Plugin Installer or delete the .jar file in your File Manager, keeping your plugin directory clean ensures your server runs at peak performance!
