As your Minecraft server player base grows, your Discord bot joins more communities, or your website receives higher web traffic, you can upgrade your hosting plan at any time.

Upgrading your server on Cubes Hosting is instant and seamless. All your files, world saves, databases, configurations, and IP addresses remain completely untouched—no data migration or manual file transfers required!

This guide will show you how to upgrade or downgrade your active services in the My Cubes Client Area.

How Upgrades Work (Prorated Pricing & Zero Data Loss)

  • Zero File Loss: Upgrading only changes your server's hardware resource limits (allocated RAM, CPU cores, or NVMe storage). Your files and panel login details remain identical.
  • Prorated Billing: When upgrading mid-cycle, you only pay the prorated difference for the remaining days of your current billing month.
  • Downgrades: If you choose to downgrade to a lower tier, any unused balance is credited toward your next renewal invoice or added as My Cubes Balance.

Step 1: Access Your Service in My Cubes

  1. Log in to the My Cubes Client Area.
  2. Navigate to Services > My Services on the top menu.
  3. Click on the active server, VPS, or hosting plan you wish to modify.

Step 2: Request Upgrade / Downgrade

  1. On the left sidebar menu under Actions, click Upgrade/Downgrade. (If you want to modify specific configurable options such as extra Backup Storage or Support Addons, click Upgrade/Downgrade Options).
  2. Choose your new desired hosting plan from the list (e.g. upgrading from Iron 2GB to Gold 4GB or Diamond 8GB).
  3. Review the calculated prorated invoice amount.
  4. Click Click to Continue and complete the checkout payment.

Step 3: Apply the Upgrade to Your Server

Once your payment is confirmed:

  1. Log in to your Cubes Hosting Game Panel (or Control Panel).
  2. Go to the Console tab.
  3. Click Restart on your server.

During startup, your server will automatically detect and initialize your newly allocated RAM and CPU resources!

Conclusion

Scaling your hosting plan takes less than two minutes in My Cubes. Select your service, click Upgrade/Downgrade, restart your server, and enjoy upgraded performance instantly!
